Fill a metal bowl with ice or frozen water bottles and place it in front of an electric fan to make a DIY air conditioner.

Summer is now officially here. And with the presiding warmer weather (we do live in Texas) people will probably tend to use their A.C. more in an effort to stay cool when it’s really hot outside. So here are some tips to help you keep cool during the warm summer months, as well as save a little money on electricity at your Webster apartments.

A.C. Air Filter – Older filters make your A.C. unit work harder to do the same amount of work. If it’s been more than 5 months since you’ve changed your filter, then file a maintenance request online to have the filter changed.

Impromptu Air Conditioner – aka DIY A.C., if you have an electric fan, then take some frozen water bottles in a metal bowl, or a metal bowl full of ice, and place them in-front of the fan. As the air cools from the frozen bottles/ice, the fan will blow it around the room.

Cool Night Air – During colder evenings, don’t be afraid to open a window and let the cool night air in.
